Ohio School House

5590 North Stillwell Road Piqua, Ohio

Ohio School House

This pattern was selected in honor of the owners’ son, who just became an assistant principal at Piqua High School, and their daughter is studying education as well.   The barn is a 40 x 60 foot peak roof design and has a rough sawed main frame with pegs, covered with pine board siding and a metal roof.   It has a hay loft and a 30 x 40 tobacco building attached giving it an L shape design.   The owners purchased the property in 1968 from the original owners.   The house and barn were built in the early 1940s.   The barn has been used for a pony from Santa Claus, sheep projects for both children for 4-H, many different celebration parties including: boy scout and girl scout parties, graduation, Halloween, many birthday parties.   The barn holds many good memories of family activities over the years.

West of Troy, south of Piqua – take Washington Rd. at west edge of Troy north to Washington-Concord Rd., turn left (west) to Stillwell, turn right (north).   The road is not heavily traveled and there is room to turn around in the driveway.
