Drawing Room Chamber Concert with Western Ohio Tuba Quartet

7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
301 W Main St, Troy, OH 45373

Hayner’s November Drawing Room Concert features the Western Ohio Tuba Quartet

The Western Ohio Tuba Quartet is comprised of four current members of the Ohio Valley British Brass Band—Francis Laws, Ted Shuttleworth, Michael Gallehue, and Denny Seifried. All are experienced performers and retired music educators who enjoy making music together and entertaining audiences with this rather unusual combination of instruments. The WOTQ consists of two euphoniums, sometimes called tenor tubas, and two bass tubas. This unique instrumentation delivers a rich and resonant sound that simply needs to be experienced in person to appreciate. The ensemble performs a variety of musical styles, from arrangements of classical composers such as Gabrieli, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky, to modern American music, marches, and jazz. Join us for this free concert on Tuesday, November 28 at 7:30 pm.

Since 1998 this intimate chamber series has been presented at the Hayner on the last Tuesday of most months in the school year. Beginning in 2017 we are pleased to have concert pianist Steven Aldredge as our host. Steven is also a sought-after composer and an educator at Wright State University. The series is presented free to the public because of the generosity of the citizens of Troy and our loyal sponsors.
