Toads & Toad Houses Workshop
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
5995 Horseshoe Bend Road, Troy, OH 45373 (937) 698-6493 www.bruknernaturecenter.com
Join us on Sunday, May 7th from 2:00-4:00pm for a fun, family-friendly workshop about toads!
With the creeks, rivers, and wetlands bursting with the spring rains many amphibians are finding it much easier to locate places to lay their eggs. Although the American toad is mostly terrestrial, living under logs and rocks or right in our flower beds, they also must lay their eggs in water to allow their offspring the best chance of survival. Join us as we discuss some cool natural history of the toad and then take our knowledge out on the trails where we will turn logs and search creek beds for the well–camouflaged amphibian! We’ll then return to the building where staff will help you make “houses” for the toads if you want to purchase a kit! BNC Members are free and non-members are $5/person. Toad house kits are just $7.50/each. Deadline for registration is Friday, May 5th by 5:00pm (cash or check only).
