Take a ride down canal towpaths, under the highways, pass commemorative monuments, and cruise through the historic evolution of our area. Choose a scenic route along some of North America’s longest trails or reach your personal best race time along paved recreational trails.
Many Miami County biking trails coast through neighboring states, national forests, and public lands, beckoning leisurely family outings and intense multi-day rides.
There are plenty of stops to make along your journey. Our parks, historic sites, and quiet communities all provide an excellent venue for exercise, family fun, and enjoyment. Along the way, you’ll find convenient bathrooms, hotels, and plenty of parking, at the many entry points found along our trails.
One of our many bike trails could be the best way to experience all that Miami County has to offer. With so many things to do, Miami County is a stop worth making and a trail worth blazing.
Where To Go?
Buckeye Trail, Troy Section
On canal towpaths, along railroad tracks, under two Interstate Highways and near a monument commemorating the Wright Brothers’ First Flight, the Troy Section of the Buckeye Trail offers hikers a glimpse into the evolution of transportation in Ohio.

North Country Trail, Miami County Section
The North Country Trail is America’s longest National Scenic Trail stretching 4,600 miles from New York to North Dakota, linking 7 states, 10 National Forest, and more than 150 public lands.
The NCT provides year-round recreation opportunities as it traverses America’s north country. In Ohio and Miami County, it becomes part of the Buckeye Trail.

Great Miami Recreational Trail
Follow the path of the Great Miami River and Miami and Erie Canal as it meanders through the towns of Tipp City, Troy and Piqua in beautiful Miami County. The trail links parks, historic sites, and the river corridor with communities and provides an excellent venue for exercise, family fun and enjoyment. Convenient parking and entry points at many locations.

Troy Mountain Bike Area (TMBA)
TMBA is a series of mountain/fat bike trails 8 miles long located on the West side of Duke Park for the recreational benefit of all.

Linear Park, Piqua
The Linear Park is more than 11 miles of paved pathway through the city. It consists of a trail that runs east and west along an abandoned railroad bed.
