Join Brukner Nature Center (BNC) on Thursday – September 22nd, 2022 for their Autumn Equinox Exhibit and Presentation featuring “Field Notes: Using the Power of Art to Conserve Nature in Our Public Lands” by Sue King. Doors open at 7:00pm for you to enjoy some tasty local treats as you take in the new art exhibit featuring the multi-media art of Sue King.

Sue uses a variety of textile and printmaking techniques – machine stitch, hand embroidery, beadwork, cyanotype, serigraphy, photography, collagraphic prints – to build layers that are stitched together into a story. She hopes to draw the viewer’s attention to the importance of wild places. What’s cool is that she repurposes old linens and clothing to minimize the textile waste dumped in our landfills.

At 7:15pm, we’ll settle into our seats for a presentation by the artist as she shares her amazing and inspirational experiences as an artist in residence at 10 national and state parks, and other public lands over the years. Come discover the importance of the natural world and the power of art to educate and persuade the public about the critical need for conservation.

Admission for this seasonal celebration is just $5 for BNC Members and $10 for non-members. Net proceeds from this event, including art sales, will support our mission of wildlife conservation.
