Tourism Grants Awarded in Miami County

Miami County Visitors & Convention Bureau Awards $27,700 in Grants

The Miami County Visitors & Convention Bureau (MCVCB) awarded $27,700 in tourism grants
for 2025 to nine local organizations and/or communities. The purpose of the Miami County Tourism Grant
Program is to help develop or bolster destination assets and the visitor experience driving visitation, overnight
stays, and increased visitor spending to area communities, to enhance the liveability of the area, to support and
encourage collaboration within Miami County and the region, and to assist local and regional organizations in
need of financial assistance for new or improved projects that are in line with the MCVCB mission.

The MCVCB received 13 grant applications with a total of $68,750 in funding requests. A grant committee
evaluated all applications and determined recipients and award amounts based on their impact of those items
listed above.

Recipients of a 2025 Tourism Grant are…
Brukner Nature Center – Accessibility at the nature center
Bradford Railroad Museum – Track and switch enhancements
Heritage Hall at Lost Creek Reserve – Destination enhancements including signage and wayfinding
Downtown Tipp City Partnership – Event essentials
Overfield Tavern Museum – Fire restoration of the historic log tavern building
Project Revival of West Milton – Public art installation
Lock 9 Park – Programming and marketing
WACO Air Museum – WACO driving tour development and brochures
Miami Valley Veterans Museum – Diorama of the 54th Massachusetts Black Volunteer Infantry

“The best way to accomplish our mission of wildlife conservation is to get people outside,” says Deb Oexmann,
Brukner Nature Center executive director. “We are extremely grateful to the Miami County Visitors and
Convention Bureau for their grant support of our Accessibility Project, creating paved walkways to provide
better access to our nature trails and wildlife exhibits for our visitors!”

“The grant committee was very pleased with the number of applications and scope of projects received for the
2025 tourism grant program.” said Leiann Stewart, MCVCB executive director. “We are fortunate to be able to
help our partners and stakeholders have a positive impact on the resident and visitor experience in Miami
County through new and enhanced exhibits and events, site accessibility, new equipment, increased marketing
efforts, and immersive experiences.”
